Chanukah celebrates the miraculous victory of the greatly outnumbered Maccabees against their Syrian-Greek foes and the miracle of a one-day supply of oil lasting eight days in the rededication of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem on the 25th of Kislev, 3622 or 139 BCE.
But the battle for the Jewish soul continues today with Christian missionaries, destructive cults, Eastern religions, anti-Israel agitation, apathy and assimilation eroding Jewish continuity.
