1:00 PM – JOHN 3:16 – UNDER THE LENS; Why Judaism Rejects Salvation without Sweat

Rabbi Skobac will present a powerful critique of the famous Christian teaching that God’s love is expressed through the sacrifice of His “only begotten son.” Judaism teaches that TRUE divine compassion empowers human beings to grow, choose, struggle, and earn their OWN closeness to God.

By contrasting these approaches, Rabbi Skobac will uncover why unearned spiritual benefits are not considered loving or elevating in the Torah’s worldview, and why the concept of vicarious sacrifice (someone else can die for your sins) is foreign to rabbinic thought. Participants will walk away with a clearer understanding of Judaism’s moral framework and its deep commitment to personal responsibility.
