ATONEMENT FOR SIN & How Missionaries Cherry-Pick Talmud on THE DEATH OF THE RIGHTEOUS – with Rabbi Michael Skobac
Traditional evangelical Christianity has long faced a serious problem. Their cornerstone foundational belief has absolutely no source or basis in the Hebrew scriptures. This is their belief that Jesus came to die as a sacrifice to atone for the sins of those who would believe in him. And that there is no other way to achieve atonement for sin.
There is not one verse in the Tanach (Jewish Bible) that teaches such a concept. Historically, Christian apologists tried to shoe horn this doctrine back into the Bible by quoting passages out of context and distorting their meaning. Others have sought to find some basis for these beliefs in the Talmud, Midrash and other writings of the rabbis.
This video explores one of their attempts to hijack rabbinic teaching for their agenda and demonstrates how here, as well, they have distorted the original sources.
