From 1975 to 1980 Julius Ciss, Executive Director of Jews for Judaism, was deeply involved in Toronto’s Hebrew-Christian “Jew for Jesus” community. He was an original member of the city’s first “Messianic Synagogue” and assisted many other Evangelical Christian missionary groups across North America to target Jews for conversion to Christianity.
In 1989, Julius established Jews for Judaism, a trailblazer in global counter-missionary outreach activism. Julius’ unique insider’s perspective on today’s growing missionary movement was a key to leading Jews for Judaism to become a leading worldwide counter-missionary resource for the global Jewish community. In partnership with Rabbi Michael Skobac, in 2021 Jews for Judaism’s outreach connected with over 2.5 million people… over 7,000 individuals each day, to keep Jews Jewish and save Jewish lives.
In this presentation, Julius will share:
- What motivates Evangelical Christians to specifically target Jews for conversion
- How, through the Christian “Battle for the Jewish Soul”, he was seduced into the Christian faith, via a deceptive from of Christian Evangelism called “The Messianic Jewish Movement
- What motivated Julius to convert other Jews to accept Jesus and become Messianic Jews
- What held him in this “Hebrew-Christian” movement for five years
- What ultimately brought him out of the church (Messianic Judaism) and back to the Jewish fold.
- Why the Jewish Community is vulnerable to Christian proselytizing and what Jews can do the prevent what happened to Julius from happening to them or their Jewish loved ones
