Was Jesus a Lunatic, Liar or Lord? C.S. Lewis’ Trilemma – with Rabbi Michael Skobac – Jews for Judaism
Salespeople and influencers of all kinds regularly employ logical fallacies to confuse and manipulate. Famous Christian author C.S. Lewis popularized this kind of argument to maneuver people into accepting the claim that Jesus was divine. Known as the Trilemma, the argument assumes that Jesus claimed to be God, and that if this were not true, he must have been either a lunatic or a liar. This manipulation assumes that no one would dare suggest that Jesus was either of these, so the only other possibility is that Jesus was who said he was.
In this lecture, Rabbi Michael Skobac will deconstruct this argument and show why it is a logical fallacy and therefore, proves nothing.
